The CPI(ML) Red Star announced on Monday its support for the all-India general strike called by the central trade unions on September 2 and asked its cadre to “defeat” the Narendra Modi Government for its ‘anti-working class’ policies. The party accused the NDA government of following neo-liberal economic policies ‘aggressively’.
The CPI(ML) Red Star has called on all party committees to mobilise militant, vigorous campaign utilising all mass organisations and democratic forces in support of the strike.
— K N Ramchandran, General Secretary, CPI(ML)
Central trade unions had in May this year called for the September strike, accusing the government of diluting labour laws to suit the needs of corporate houses. Left-backed farmers’ bodies will take part in the protest against Centre’s “anti-farmer” policies.
