There is already secure border fencing between USA and Mexico that runs for 700 miles, but the rest of the 2,000-mile-long border is manned by border patrol.

As promised during the campaign period, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to build a wall and have Mexico pay for it.

But Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto cancelled his meeting with Trump and also refused to pay for the wall.

Which is why Trump is seeking to impose a 20 percent tax on imports from Mexico, which has a trade deficit, in order to finance the construction of a border wall along its southern border, the White House said.

But people living close to the border told NBC News that they have seen people climb over the secure fence in under twenty seconds.
