The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) made a statement that it will not intervene in the law and order situation ahead of the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati.
“The first responder in relation to ongoing and potential public order issues are the district administration and State Police under the overall guidance of the State Government”.MHA Spokesperson to ANI
They also said that if any assistance is necessary, they will consider it.
“Any request for assistance, as and when received, will receive the fullest consideration of the Ministry,” said the MHA Spokesperson to ANI.
According to a report in News18, Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Ranjit Patil has said that “adequate security will be provided to Padmavati, when it is released in the state”.
Doubts on the extent to which the National Award winning filmmaker has fictionalised the story, has led to a spiralling controversy with politicians, organisations and individuals raising a finger at Bhansali for “distorting history” and demanding that the release of Padmavati be stalled. Deepika is convinced the movie will release, as scheduled, on December 1.
