The third phase of the West Bengal polls begins on 21 April 2016 in North Kolkata, Murshidabad, Nadia and Bardhaman. All in all, 62 constituencies will go to poll in this phase of the election.
Keeping the earlier two phases in mind, the Election Commission has decided not to take chances and will deploy 714 companies of paramilitary forces in four districts. Sources to The Hindu confirmed that 261 companies will be sent to Murshidabad, 61 will go to Kolkata, 198 in Bardhaman and 194 companies will be deployed in Nadia.
