Ahmedabad gets hot during summers. Really hot - so hot that in 2016, the temperature went up to as much as 50 degree Celsius.
To keep her car cool in such hot conditions, a woman named Sejal Shah has covered it in cow dung, news agency ANI reported.
The car was found a few days back after pictures started circulating online of this lady’s ‘innovative’ way to keep her car cool.
However, its not just the car where Ms Shah uses her creativity to keep her surroundings isolated from the extreme heat. “I have used cow dung in my house flooring as well, and from that experience i thought of doing something like this with my car,” Ms Shah said, when asked about how she got the idea.
However, its not clear if she has done this to keep the car cool from the inside or to prevent overheating. If its the latter, it might just work (mechanics, take note). However, its unlikely to keep the inside of the car cool, since in summers, most of the heat comes in from the windows (parking in the shade would be easier).
Applying cow dung to the walls of the house is quite a common practice to keep the house cool in summers.
