Won’t Let People of TN Be Ruled By Nagpur: Rahul’s Dig at BJP, RSS

Taking a swipe at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi at a rally in Tamil Nadu on Friday, 12 April, said if ruled to power, Congress and its ally Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) will never allow people of the state to be "ruled by Nagpur."

Gandhi, who was accompanied by the DMK Chief MK Stalin during the rally in Krishnagiri, expressed confidence in him and said Stalin will head the next government in Tamil Nadu, which will vote for a new Assembly in 2021.

“Our alliance is the alliance of the people of Tamil Nadu. Both parties believe in freedom, justice and freedom of speech. We will never ever allow the people of Tamil Nadu to be ruled by people from Nagpur.”

Rahul Slams PM, Says Modi Ran Govt for His 15 Friends

The Congress president also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that he ran his government for 15 of his friends and he wondered why no big-ticket defaulters of bank loans like Vijay Mallya were not in jail.

He added the ones like Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya, after taking bank loans, failed to return it and ran away from the country.

Focusing on his party's Minimum Income Support Scheme 'NYAY,' he said it would give purchasing power to the people and that in turn would propel factories in Tamil Nadu and the overall economy.

Textile and silk hubs of Tamil Nadu, Tirupur and Kancheepuram "will become live," again and provide employment opportunities to youngsters, he said.

Tamil Nadu goes to polls in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections to be held on 18 April.
