Dujana, an A++ militant, used to operate out of Pulwama district and joined the militant outfit when he was 17 years old. Dujana succeeded former Kashmir LeT chief Abu Qasim, after the latter’s death.

A few reports claim that Dujana fell out with Lashkar and joined hands with terror outfit Al-Qaeda’s Kashmir unit about five months ago. Dujana had previously managed to elude security forces at least five times before finally being nabbed and neutralised.

Abu Dujana Was Seen at Burhan Wani's Funeral

The LeT commander was last seen at the funeral of ex-Hizbul Mujahideen chief Burhan Wani in South Kashmir’s Tral area in July 2016, said a report by CNN-News18.

Dujana is said to have gained popularity among the youth on account of being very active on social media, often posting photographs and videos, Hindustan Times reported.

Dujana, who had been carrying a cash reward of Rs 15 lakh on his head, is said to be the third top militant commander killed in Kashmir since 2016, after Burhan Wani and Sabzar Bhat.

According to reports, Dujana has been succeeded by his aide, Abu Ismail, the terrorist behind the recent attack on Amarnath yatris.
