Even the most skilled social media analysts can’t always predict the stories that will really strike a chord with internet users, the ones that will merit pages of heated, rambling discussion and debate.
One such story is that of mechanic Raees Mohammad Makrani, a 44-year-old resident of Madhya Pradesh who studied only up to class 12, and has invented a car that runs on water.
The video has garnered over three lakh views, over five thousand likes, and has been shared more than six thousand times. It has also created a mini-storm in the comments section. Here are the best of the lot.
The Deshbhakt
Bhaskar SKHe patented it and a Chinese company will start production. Where are our Indian companies? Can’t they use this idea and produce cars instead of selling the idea to a neighbouring country?
Negative Nellies (Who Might Have A Point)
Pulkit JoshiWater and petrol both are non-renewable resources, so doesn’t help much from the environmental perspective.
Astha BaulIf cars now start operating on water, our already scarce water resources will further diminish and in a few years we won’t have water to drink until and unless it can be recycled back. I appreciate the man’s work but it’s not at all an eco-friendly invention and should not be promoted.
And More Pessimists
Harmesh DhanjalPani bhi mehnga ho jayega abhi (Water too will become expensive now).
Pranjal BoraHe’s lucky he hasn’t blown himself up with the Acetylene yet! To me, the source of energy is simple but looks dangerous from a safety point of view.
