After being ranked the number one in the ICC Test batsmen rankings, for the first time in his career on Sunday, 5 August, Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli provided some serious personal goals, by taking to Twitter to wish his wife, actor Anushka Sharma, a Happy Friendship Day!
While Virushka has always provided goals on the scale of romance, they’ve bagged the best friend category as well.
Kohli’s post also shows that despite his hectic schedule, he still manages to take time out to wish his best friend- in this case his wife and partner- on a special day.
Although Kohli wasn’t able to win the Test match for India at Edgbaston, his personal milestone, climbing to the top of the ICC Test batsmen rankings for the first time in his career, is highly commendable.
Kohli is the first Indian since Sachin Tendulkar (in June 2011) to climb the summit, and also only the seventh from the country to manage the feat.
In the opening Test against England that concluded on Sunday, Virat scored 149 and 51 in the 31-run defeat and went up by 31 points, which have helped him end Steve Smith's 32-month reign at the top.
