Virat and Anushka Win Over Twitter With Their Lovely Gesture

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's reception in Mumbai on 26 December was a star-studded affair. From Indian cricketers, Bollywood celebrities to businessmen, the ‘whos-who’ of the country accompanied the newly-weds on their reception.

Among all the big names, there was a picture of a differently-abled man with the couple doing the rounds on the internet. However, after a bit of a digging, it was revealed that the man was a Sri Lankan cricket fan named Gayan Senanayake, who flew all the way to Mumbai to witness the T20 bilateral series played among the two neighbouring countries. The Indian skipper invited the differently-abled Sri Lankan cricket fan to the star-studded event, winning millions of hearts all over again.

Senanayake had come to Mumbai to cheer the Sri Lankan team during their recently-concluded bilateral series with India. He is a die-hard fan of Sri Lankan team often traveling overseas to support his country.

Kohli’s invitation to the Sri Lankan fan earned him instant praise from cricket fans all over the world.

Virat and Anushka got maried in a close affair in Italy on 11 December. After the Italy wedding, they hosted a grand reception in Virat's hometown Delhi, which was followed by the Mumbai reception.

The newly-weds ensured they gave time to all of their guests present at the wedding reception. They even spent time with the Sri Lankan fan, who was invited to the reception after the final T20 at the Wankhede stadium.

Virat and Anushka clicked pictures with Senanayake, which have been doing the rounds on the internet. Twitterati could not keep quiet and appreciated the Indian skipper for his humble action and generous attitude towards the Sri Lanka fan.
