Goons ‘Rejecting’ SC Verdict on Sabarimala is Kaafi Real

Over 3,000 people have been arrested for the violence that erupted in connection with Sabarimala row.

Two women – Bindu (42) from Koilandy and Kanakadurga (44) from Angadipuram in Malappuram district – had entered the sanctum sanctorum of the Sabarimala temple on 2 January, triggering protests across the state. The shrine was closed for “purification rituals” hours after the women entered the Sabarimala.

As on 5 January, the police had arrested 3,178 people for hartal-related violence over the entry of women into the Sabarimala temple in Kerala. A total of 1,286 cases have been registered against 37,979 persons across the state.
