Speaking at a press conference in Kolkata today, Rajnath Singh pointed out the “befitting” reply given to Pakistan during ceasefire violations recently. While talking about India’s cordial relations with all its neighbors, he also said that, “Earlier when Pakistan attempted any ceasefire violations, our forces showed white flags. However recently BSF gave them a befitting reply during the ceasefire violations, and the UN had to intervene.”

On a similar note, he also said that any Pro-Pakistan slogans and activities wouldn’t be tolerated on Indian soil.

Rajnath Singh assured that India and Bangladesh will soon approve the Teesta Water Pact.

“Both the countries will give their approval to it very soon. We are hopeful that we will get full cooperation from the West Bengal government”, Singh said.

He further said, “The land boundary issue was stuck for 40 years. Now the decision has been taken”.

The Bangladesh High Commission is in hope that Teesta water sharing pact would be signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Dhaka. The Indian government has briefed Bangladesh on the ”internal” discussions and the Centre was also in talk with the West Bengal government.
