Ivanka Trump thanked Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, in a letter, for his warm hospitality during her visit to Hyderabad in November.

She described her trip to Hyderabad as an "inspiring experience". She wrote about being touched by the "thoughtful gesture of the people Telengana."

US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka was in Hyderabad to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the three-day event where India and the US co-hosted the world's largest gathering of young entrepreneurs, the theme of which was ‘Women First, Prosperity for All.’

After attending GES, Ivanka was hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Falaknuma Palace for an extravagant dinner, where she was treated to Hyderabadi specialties like dahi ke kebab, gosht shikampuri kebab, kubani ke malai kofta, murg pista ka salan and sitaphal kulfi, according to reports.

Before hosting the Global Entrepreneurship Summit from 28-30 November, Hyderabad was given a hasty makeover by the government.

Awaiting Ivanka Trump, the authorities had re-carpeted battered roads and filled up potholes. Over 200 beggars were shifted to shelter homes in two jails. The officials had, however, said they were already working towards the beggar-free city tag and the drive was unrelated to Trump's visit.

Around 1,500 traffic personnel and 10,000 security personnel, including elite forces, had been deployed in Hyderabad, according to media reports.
