Ramzan is a month in the lunar calendar when Muslims all over the world fast from sunrise to sunset.

Now Trending in Bollywood - South Korean Remakes
TE3N, featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan, is an official remake of the South Korean thriller, Montage, which released in 2013. The film is about a crime that sends three characters on a quest, the Indian version helmed by Ribhu Dasgupta released today.
Indian filmmakers’ affair with Korean thrillers is not new. In the past decade, we’ve released several remakes of South Korean films, sometimes official, and most times, copied and pasted without permission.
These Movie Titles Definitely Deserved the Censor Board’s Axe!
Pahlaj Nihalani has asked that ‘Punjab’ be removed from the title of the movie Udta Punjab and that 89 scenes be dropped from the film. Indeed he is right to ask. After all, if Nihalani doesn’t take a stand in the interest of the state, who will?
Before Nihalani became the Censor Board chief, filmmakers took undue liberty with titles. A glance at movie titles like Mother India, Salaam Bombay!, Chandi Chowk and Bombay clearly shows how they maligned the name of the country.
But better late than never. Nihalani is here to save the day. One can only hope that he will not only censor the names of these films but also save the reputation of the country in the process.
Mira and Shahid’s Jodi Will Make You Want an Arranged Marriage
Last year, when 35-year-old Shahid Kapoor decided to marry the 22-year-old Mira Rajput, the media and the film industry went into a tizzy. Not so much because of their 13 year age difference, but because the match was ‘arranged’ after the families met at a satsang.
However, over the past year, the couple has reaffirmed our faith in arranged marriages. We’re convinced: arranged marriages are just as cool as love marriages!
Why Do We Indians Love MasterChef Australia So Much?
Something curious has been happening lately in the world of nighttime television.
If you listen – and watch – very closely, you will find that the ghee-streaked parantha and the katori of sabzi are slowly making way for visions of chocolatey decadence and the goodness of a perfectly pink rib-eye steak. The sounds of primetime are drowned out by the all-too-familiar voices of three smiling, effervescent men.
Masterchef Australia is the current high-water mark of reality television in India – and has been for all the eight years it has been on air. Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston are beloved icons and household names.
Yet, what is it that makes the show so very popular in India?
5 Things That Happen Only In a Balaji Soap!
You may love her, hate her but you just can’t ignore Ekta Kapoor and her prime time soaps. Aur main toh dekh ke bata sakti hoon ki yeh Ekta Kapoor serial hai ki nahi. Of course the title has to start with the letter K..... but here are 5 other things that are essential elements of every Ekta Kapoor soap.
The Science Of Why You Have Food Cravings
At 10 in the morning, the thought of a double chocolate brownie seems divine. Post lunch it’s so seductive that your brain starts chanting louder and louder until you cave in and give it exactly what it wants.
Yum... the brownie is un-putdownable.
We’ve all been there.
The saltiness of potato wafers, the satiny touch of a chocolate, the richness of a cake or the greasiness of a pizza - there’s no sure shot way of telling why these food joneses are so powerful but experts say cravings could signal certain deficiencies or other health issues.
So what tricks your 10,000 taste buds into craving food even when you are not hungry?
How ‘Udta Punjab’ Can Pass the Censors and Keep the Drugs Too
The Censor Board of India doesn’t seem to like puns, and Punjab in titles. After heavily thrashing out innuendos from last week’s Housefull 3, Pahlaj Nihalani’s team wants Udta Punjab to drop Punjab from their name. Why? Because the movie highlights the rampant drug abuse in the north Indian state and assembly elections are just a few months away.
Just in case the makers want to clear the ‘stately’ controversy, and retain the drug element too, here are a few suggestions on how to rename Udta Punjab.
Hey, Troubled Sleeper! Here’s What You Should Eat to Sleep Better
Nothing is more annoying than insomnia – but you know what’s worse than plain annoyance? Insomnia/lack of sleep can hurt our health, productivity – and our weight too! In fact, science is clear that sleep debt is responsible for expanded waistlines.
Researchers from University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine reported last year that skipping just a single night of sleep leads to a shift in brain activity which sparks a desire to consume not just many more calories but also more fat the following day. There! So basically, how much and how well you sleep can affect how much you weigh.
