Delhi zoo ‘pissed off’
Why? Because one of their guards was found supplying rhinoceros urine to another guard. Sorry guard-ji, but pee ki chori isn’t allowed in India. He is currently suspended.
But why Rhino pee?
What good is this pee? The Quint’s own Ace Ventura has found out that rhino urine is sold as medicine. And not just for ordinary khasi-zhukam. According to the Times Of India, rhino urine is thought to have aphrodisiac properties in Chinese and some other streams of traditional medicine.
In Kolkata zoo too
Pee Fact: This is not the first time that rhino pee has made headlines. Way back in 2001, a rhino pee smuggling racket was exposed at the Kolkata Zoo as well. Guards at the zoo were caught selling rhino urine for up to Rs 250 a bottle, for the very same purpose.
Let’s legalise rhino pee
Now hey, unlike rhino poachers, this guard did not kill the rhino for its horns, or its nails. All he did was steel some pee. Big deal. Here is some thought-for-pee - If rhino pee is good for health, then why not make it legal? Maybe some ‘pee-sales’ could fetch our cash-starved zoos some pocket money.
