PM Narendra Modi decided to take sanyas from all things worldly by embarking upon an 18-hour meditation marathon in a WiFi-enabled cave in Kedarnath. Unlike the calm within the cave, Twitter was abuzz with politicians and citizens dissecting his red carpet entrance with a bevy of cameramen on his tail.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala took a dig at the PM for walking on a red carpet inside the premises of the Kedarnath temple.

Meanwhile, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechruy lashed out at the EC for allowing Modi to visit Kedarnath during the silence period, calling it a brazen violation of the MCC.

Alt news founder Pratik Sinha also took a dig at news agency ANI for backtracking on its visuals of PM Modi ‘meditating’, after the latter tweeted that the photos were taken at the media’s request.

And of course, some tweeple haven’t held themselves back after the PM’s meditation photoshoot.

Five days ahead of the election results, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday morning offered prayers at the Kedarnath shrine nestled in the Garhwal Himalayan range of Uttarakhand.
