Two terrorists have been killed in an ongoing encounter between the security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Tral area in Pulwama on Tuesday, 5 March. The police have recovered two AK-47 rifles from the terrorists, a CRPF official told The Quint.
The CRPF official said, dead bodies of two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists – identified as Irfan Ahmed Rather and Adfar Fiyaz – were recovered. The two were residents of Tral.
The terrorists were affiliated to Hizbul Mujahideen, Greater Kashmir reported.
"A brief exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists in Tral area," a police spokesman said, reported PTI. The encounter took place at Gole Masjid area in the town.
He said the security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an operation to flush out the terrorists.
According to Greater Kashmir, the civilian was identified as Farooq Ahmad. He was rushed to SMHS hospital in Srinagar.
