6 Swine Flu Deaths in Pune Area, 110 Cases Recorded this Season

Six people have been reported dead due to swine flu in Pune’s Pimpri-Chinchwad area in September. These deaths come in at the time when reports of H1N1 positive cases in Maharastra are coming up in numbers. About 110 swine flu positive cases have been reported in the area so far.

CASES REPORTED THIS YEAR

Although there is no data on the number of swine flu cases throughout the country, the number of cases in Pune’s Pimpri-Chinchwad, as reported by ANI rose to 110. In those 110 cases, more than 50 have come in September alone.

There have been 20 swine flu related deaths this season so far –– six in September and 19 in the last two months.

The Hindustan Times had reported that between January and 9 September, 102 people were tested positive, with 14 deaths.

According to the HT report, as many as 62 people have been tested positive for H1N1 in Pune city, with three deaths so far this season.

In Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, there have been 13 deaths from swine flu so far in the city this season, The Times of India reported. 31 percent of these cases have come in September.

The infected person should cover the mouth and nose so that they don’t spread the virus. Wash your hands and cover your face in public to save yourself from coming in contact with the virus.
