The relentless Chennai floodwaters spared no one. Homes and hearths of the rich and poor alike succumbed to the fury of the torrential downpour that gripped Chennai for days together. Among the many who lost their homes was actor Siddharth. His loss only strengthened his resolve to help those who, like him, were stranded in dire circumstances.
Siddharth, along with some other members of the film fraternity, have emerged as real life heroes. They worked quietly and under the radar to restore normalcy in Chennai and for its people.
The actor’s home was flooded and damaged in the rains. Driven by the realisation that those less-affluent than him must have suffered a worse fate, he took on intense rescue and relief efforts.
Siddharth gathered and organised relief material, and was personally responsible for making sure they reached those in need.
In a conversation with NDTV, he is now encouraging the rest of the country to step up and help Chennai and its people.
