The 20-year-old son of a former BSF constable, who was sacked after he posted a video online complaining about poor quality food served to the troops, was found dead at his residence in Haryana's Rewari district, PTI reported.
His body was lying in a pool of blood with his father's licensed pistol in his hand, a police official of Rewari Model Town police station told PTI.
Tej's son, Rohit Yadav, was found locked inside a room with a gun in his hand, ANI reported. As per the statement of Tej Bahadur Yadav, he had hidden his licensed weapon in the house but his son somehow traced it out, PTI reported, quoting the police.
The bullet probably got fired when his only son was fiddling with the pistol, the report stated, quoting the father. His mother was also not at home when the incident took place, they told PTI.
“We received a call that Rohit has committed suicide. At the crime spot, we discovered that the room was locked from inside. The body was lying on the bed. There was a pistol in his hands. His father has gone to attend Kumbh Mela. We have informed him.”Police official to ANI
According to the PTI report, the police said inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure have been initiated in the case.
Back in 2017, Tej Bahadur had shared video clips on social media about the quality of food served to security forces at his camp along the Indo-Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir.
He was later dismissed from service by the Summary Security Force Court at Samba on charges of indiscipline, the report added.
