Lance Naik Sandeep Singh, who lost his life during an anti-infiltration operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tangdhar sector, was laid to rest by the Indian Army on Tuesday, 25 September.
Five militants were killed in the operation which started on Sunday, 23 September, after suspicious movement along the LoC in north Kashmir’s Tangdhar.
Singh was also part of the team which carried out surgical strikes in Uri and Poonch districts in September 2016.
“Bodies of three terrorists have been recovered, total five terrorists were killed in the operation. One security personnel was killed and one was injured during the operation,” said SSP Kupwara in a press conference on Tuesday, 25 September.
He was from Gurdaspur district in Punjab and is survived by his wife and a five-year-old child.
