Pakistani terrorist Mohammed Naved Yakub, who was captured in Udhampur, was subjected to lie detector test today after he made ‘contradictory and misleading’ statements about his Indian contacts and the route taken by him and his accomplices to infiltrate India.
The NIA, in a related development, also released the sketches of two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, who are suspected to have infiltrated Jammu and Kashmir’s Gulmarg sector along with Naved. The anti-terror agency also announced a cash reward of Rs five lakh to anyone providing information leading to their arrest.
The two have been identified as Zarghan alias Mohammed Bhai, aged about 38-40 years, and Abu Okasha, around 17-18 years old.
Naved was brought to Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) under tight security, pursuant to a Delhi court order. He was kept in isolation for some time before being subjected to the polygraph test.
Agency sources said officials from various security and intelligence agencies including the Intelligence Bureau (IB) were present during the test, the detailed analysis of which is awaited.
Naved was captured by locals, after unidentified militants had attacked a Border Security Force convoy on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway in Udhampur. Two jawans and one of the militants were killed but one militant escaped with three civilians. Here’s a video of Naved taken shortly after,
