For anybody who aspires to work for the Indian government, the Modi-led administration has the opportunity you might be looking for.
The government has invited people to send in their resumes for the same. What’s interesting about this is that employees from several international universities and multinational companies have shown interest in applying too. Students belonging to Columbia, Cornell and Yale have also sent in their applications, according to a Business Standard report.
While more than 8,000 applications have already come in, the government expects the number to rise to 20,000 by 30 September.
Employees working for giants like Facebook, Apple and Google have also expressed interest in being part of this scheme. Retired bureaucrats, army men, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) professors, bankers and a few journalists also want to be a part of this.
In the beginning, the resumes will be filtered, after which, 100 people will be shortlisted for the final interview. A team of mygov.in has been processing these resumes for the past 15 days now.
It’s to be noted that this is not a full-time job. It’s premised on contract basis, the maximum tenure of which can be three years.
Then, a data bank consisting of all the resumes will be created for future use.
