The CBI has denied reports that former Mumbai Police commissioner Rakesh Maria was questioned for the second time in the Sheena Bora murder case after his retirement on 31 January.
An Indian Express report had earlier said that Maria’s statements were recorded in the CBI headquarters in New Delhi.
In 2016, he, along with two other senior IPS officers, were questioned by the investigative agency which is also looking into the role of Mumbai Police in the sensational murder case.
Sheena Bora (24) was allegedly murdered by her mother Indrani Mukerjea, Indrani’s husband Peter Mukerjea, and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna on 24 April 2012. A CBI court has charged the three accused with murder and criminal conspiracy.
