Senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya has withdrawn his contentious tweet on actor Shah Rukh Khan where he accused Shah Rukh Khan of living in India with his heart still in Pakistan.
Praising Shah Rukh, Vijayvargiya wrote that he had no intention of hurting anybody’s sentiments and his tweets were misunderstood.
Quoting sources, various news outlets reported that Vijayvargiya was pressured into apologising by the BJP leadership.
Earlier, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar had condemned Vijayvargiya’s comments on the actor saying that the BJP didn’t endorse the views of the party general secretary.
Vijayvargiya’s earlier statement had come as a reaction to Shah Rukh’s remarks on the ‘growing intolerance’ in the country.
Shah Rukh Khan lives in India, but his heart is in Pakistan. His films make crores here, but India seems intolerant to him.

Over a series of posts on the social media site, Vijayvargiya went on to say that there is a “conspiracy” to create an atmosphere of intolerance in the country and that Shah Rukh Khan is aligning with Pakistan and anti-India forces by alleging intolerance.
