There’s some real sad news for dosa and idli lovers in Tamil Nadu. In at least nine places, including the iconic Royapettah branch, the Chennai Corporation has reportedly put a seal on Hotel Saravana Bhavan.
The reasons cited include no licence and lack of proper quality of service.
Saravana Bhavan is a chain of restaurants that serves predominantly Tamil cuisine. The brand gained popularity in the seventies – and grew to have branches across the world.
But of late, it has received some flak from regular patrons, who feel the food is not as good as it used to be. Many now consider the food overpriced as well.
