Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a mega public drive, Sampark for Samarthan, following the Modi government's fourth anniversary on 26 May. Taking this campaign ahead is (BJP) president Amit Shah, who met actor Madhuri Dixit, her husband Sriram Madhav Nene and her older son Arin at their residence in Mumbai. Shah has been carrying booklets containing details of the various promises fulfilled by the Modi government during these visits.
Under Sampark for Samarthan, it was announced that 4000 functionaries of the party will contact one lakh people, who are well-known names in their fields, to spread the word about the government's work during its four-year tenure. Shah will himself meet 50 people as part of the campaign.
The BJP chief has already met cricket legend Kapil Dev, former chief justice of India R C Lahoti, yoga guru Ramdev, former Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag and others. He is also scheduled to meet other prominent personalities like Lata Mangeshkar and Ratan Tata to share Modi government's achievement during the last four years.
