The UIDAI has for 10 years blacklisted the centre that had leaked the Aadhaar receipt of former skipper MS Dhoni. UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey had informed the same in a statement to PTI.

Recently, MS Dhoni’s Aadhaar card details had made headlines. It wasn’t technology, but a star-struck government official who had made the blunder.

It all started on Tuesday when Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi Singh Rawat, had tweeted to the Minister of Information technology Ravi Shankar Prasad, asking this question:

Government Handle Tweets
MS Dhoni’s Personal Info

Mrs Dhoni soon followed up with a re-tweet from e-government services’ official handle, where an official is compromising Dhoni’s Aadhaar details, in a moment of fan fare.

It didn't take long for the Twitterati to take notice of the blunder with many coming in support of Dhoni’s right to privacy. It also strengthened arguments for those doubting the government’s capability to protect sensitive information of those who share their personal details through Aadhaar.

IT Minister Promises ‘Serious Action’

Minister of Information technology Ravi Shankar Prasad was quick to reply to Sakshi Rawat promising action against the person who had shared Dhoni’s personal info. Mrs Dhoni later thanked him for this prompt response.

But several netizens were quick to point out how Prasad had earlier ‘liked’ the same tweet which compromised Dhoni’s personal details. How did he miss this critical blunder?

Prasad Blocked User For Pointing This Folly Out:

... And guess what? The user was apparently blocked for pointing this out.

Should the IT minister be given a benefit of doubt for missing the leaked personal info? After all, to err is human.
