The annual meeting of the highest policy-making body of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) started in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior on 8 March, as announced Wednesday, 6 March 2019.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Madhya Pradesh on 2 March for the three-day meeting, which comes just before the Lok Sabha polls.
The meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha will have around 1,400 select representatives from all over the country.
"The convention will deliberate on current national, social and religious scenario in the country and pass some important resolutions," RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh, Arun Kumar told reporters.
During the meeting, RSS' year-long programmes about various activities, including those in the field of education, will be decided, he said.
In the meeting, no discussions will be held on the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, Kumar said. This meeting always takes place in March, he added, seeking to delink its timing from the crucial general elections.
The Pratinidhi Sabha meeting would see participation of representatives chosen from 11 regions and 43 provinces (in Sangh parlance) working in various fields, Kumar said.
"The meeting will discuss current issues pertaining to national interest as well as some social and religious matters," he said.

On issues like Ram temple construction, Pulwama terror attack and India's air strike on terror camps in Pakistan, Kumar said, "RSS general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi will dwell on them at the concluding session of the convention on March 10."
He denied the possibility of any discussions related to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections taking place during the convention.
