The ‘Rohtak sisters’, whose case last year grabbed headlines after a video surfaced of them beating up their alleged molesters, have reportedly failed a polygraph or lie-detector test.

According to a report by Aaj Tak , the youths against whom the allegations were made however passed the test.

Parts of the lie-detector test report were reportedly leaked even before its official release. According to this report, the replies given by the men were positive, but the answers by the girls were not found to be satisfactory.

The men have continued to maintain their innocence, whereas the family of the girls has said that the polygraph result will not hold any significance in court and that it will not have any effect on the case, adds the Aaj Tak report.

A report by News18 meanwhile quotes the sisters’ lawyer as saying that unnecessary and objectionable questions were asked to the sisters in the lie-detector test.

Last year, a video emerged of the two college-going sisters, Pooja and Aarti thrashing three men on a Haryana Roadways bus. The girls from Rohtak alleged that the men had molested them.

The video went viral and the men were swiftly arrested. After wide coverage of the incident by the media, the Haryana government even announced cash rewards to the two sisters.

However, a conflicting version of the report emerged soon after. According to this version, the girls were at fault. An old woman, who claimed to be a passenger on the same bus, reportedly said the men had not molested the girls. She said they had got into a fight over a seat. Following this, government put on hold their decision to award the two sisters.

Later, yet another video emerged of the girls thrashing a boy at a park. There were also claims that the two sisters had made a habit of picking up fights with boys.
