On Tuesday, the Congress’ Mallikarjun Kharge spoke against the attacks on Rahul Gandhi’s convoy in Gujarat last week.

The BJP government and MPs had said that those pelting stones in Kashmir are terrorists... Which terrorists have come to Gujarat? Are they from Jammu and Kashmir? Or are BJP workers becoming terrorists to kill Rahul Gandhi?

Home Minister Rajnath Singh responded to the charge by saying that Gandhi was provided with security, but he did not sit in the car given to him but in his own vehicle.

The Gujarat government is investigating the matter and has arrested one. Rahul Gandhi should have followed security related suggestion...Shri Rahul Gandhi undertook 121 tours in the last 2 years, out of which there were 100 security protocol violations of not using BR Car...We want to know where did he go? Why didn’t he take SPG cover?

Singh said that in the past as well, Gandhi has ignored security advice.

“Going abroad without taking SPG cover is not only a violation of the SPG Act, but also a negligence towards one’s own security,” said Singh.
