Taking a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday, 5 December, asked why the PM hadn’t held a press conference during his tenure.

Gandhi, who had campaigned in Telangana for the 7 December Assembly elections, tweeted the pictures of his press conference in Hyderabad and said it was fun to have questions thrown at you.

“Dear Mr Modi, now that campaigning is over, hope you can spare some time for your part-time job as PM," said Gandhi, who has been campaigning in five states for the Assembly polls.

"Btw (by the way) it’s been 1,654 days since u became PM. Still no press conference,” Gandhi wrote.

"Some pics from our Hyderabad press conference today (Wednesday). Try one someday, it's fun having questions thrown at you," added Gandhi.

Campaigning for the upcoming elections in Rajasthan and Telangana ended on Wednesday as the model poll of conduct was enforced.

The two leaders had addressed a series of rallies – Modi in Rajasthan and Gandhi in Telangana – with each attacking each other.
