Parliament Logjam Continues
There was no breakthrough in the Parliament logjam in spite of a change.org petition by India Inc. But the government accepted an adjournment motion moved by the Congress party to discuss the Lalit Modi controversy. Lok Sabha witnessed two fiery speeches filled with attacks and counter attacks by Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj respectively. It even got personal with Swaraj attacking the grand old party over Bofors, the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, and a few other clandestine deals.

India On Top After Ashwin’s 6 Wickets and Shikhar’s 50
R Ashwin picked up six wickets as India managed to wrap up the Sri Lankan innings on the first day of the Galle Test at 183. In reply, India lost the wickets of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma early but skipper Virat Kohli (45) and Shikhar Dhawan (53) collaborated for an unbeaten 100-run partnership to end the day at 128/2. India trail Sri Lanka by 55 runs.
Ford India Launches Figo Aspire
The sub-4-meter car segment is already crowded in India with the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Hyundai’s Xcent, TATA Zest, and now Ford’s new offering leaves the consumer spoilt for choice. The Figo Aspire will be available in three engine options: 1.2-liter Ti-VCT petrol, 1.5-litre TDCI and 1.5-litre Ti-VCT motor. It is priced at 4.89 lakh.
