1. Family Dispute: Woman Hangs Son, Daughter and Herself; Boy Survives

A 35-year-old woman hung herself and her infant son and daughter in their house in Surat. Her one-year-old son has survived the attempt on his life. Police investigations reveal that she ended her life due to a family dispute. She first hung her children from the ceiling using pieces of cloth and then herself.

Fear has gripped villagers in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district as the `Injection Psycho’ - on the prowl for the last one week -continues to attack unsuspecting people, particularly women. On Sunday he targeted a three-year-old girl who had to be given immediate medical aid at a local hospital.

3. Gang Hacks to Death 49-yr-old AIADMK Man

A gang hacked a 49-year-old AIADMK functionary and realtor to death over a land deal while he was drinking liquor in Red Hills on Sunday afternoon. The gang, on three motorcycles attacked him with sickles. His friends rushed him to Stanley Medical College Hospital and Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

4. Vinod Kambli, Wife Booked as Domestic Help Alleges Assault

Vinod Kambli and his wife Andrea have been booked for allegedly assaulting and wrongfully confining their domestic help for nearly three days, the Bandra police claimed on Sunday. According to the police, Soni Nafesinh Sarsal (30) approached them Saturday alleging ill-treatment by her employers.

5. Strolley Murders: Decomposed Head and Child’s Body Found in Bush

A day after a man was caught throwing bags containing body parts of a woman and her six-year-old daughter into the Ganga, the police on Sunday recovered a decomposed head and the body of a child from a bush near Barrackpore’s Mangal Pandey Ghat.

6. 17-year-old MBBS Student found Hanging in Her Hostel Room at AIIMS

A 17-year-old, first-year MBBS student at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was found hanging in her hostel room on the campus on Sunday, police said. Khushboo Chaudhary, who belonged to Bikaner in Rajasthan, had joined the institute only six weeks ago.

7. ‘Pregnant’ with Drugs, Woman Lands in Hyderabad

A 32-year-old South African national, who claimed to be “seven-months pregnant“, was arrested for trying to smuggle in narcotic substances concealed in her belly and urogenital tract, at the RGI Airport on Sunday morning.

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sleuths became suspicious after looking at her passport and travel pattern over the last one week. On subjecting her to medical examination, they discovered that she had swallowed the banned drugs which were packed in small polymer packets.

9. Mizoram Sisters’ Murder: 18-year-old Suspect Arrested, Charged with Rape

The bodies of two girls were found at around 8 pm on Friday near their tin-roofed home in the Chhingchhip village, about 80 km from state capital Aizawl. The 18-year-old, who allegedly murdered and possibly raped two sisters – aged three and six – was arrested and brought to Mizoram’s capital Aizawl to be produced before a magistrate.
