1. Can’t Share Details of Sunanda FBI Report: Delhi Police Chief

Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi has reiterated that the details of the FBI report related to Sunanda Pushkar’s death cannot be made public before its submission in the court.

Radiation levels in the viscera samples of Sunanda, the wife of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, were “within the standard safety norms”. SIT is likely to seek the court’s permission to conduct a polygraph test (lie detector test) on Tharoor.

2. Delhi Photographer Manik Katyal Accused of Sexual Harassment

Photo curator Manik Katyal, founder and editor-in-chief of Emaho, a photography magazine, has been accused of sexually harassing and abusing several women. As a result he has been asked to step down from his role as co-director of a photography festival that was held in Delhi in September.

A blog was set up under the name “I was harassed by Manik Katyal” where victims recounted their ordeals. A Facebook page by the name of “Boycott Manik Katyal” has also been opened. Katyal has not responded yet.

3. Uttar Pradesh: Tiger Beaten to Death by Villagers

Villagers in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnaur beat a tiger to death early on Wednesday morning, after it had strayed into a poultry farm and injured two people.

4. Mangaluru: Jail Murder Raises Communal Gang War Fears

Madoor Yusuf, 42, alias Isubu, a prisoner murdered on November 2 in a Mangaluru sub-jail never met Mumbai underworld Chhota Shakeel. Yet, since his arrest in 2010, he was described as a close aide of Shakeel.

Having fled to Saudi Arabia in 2003 after a series of communal crimes in Mangaluru, Madoor was picked up by Interpol in Dubai, where he had gone hoping to meet Shakeel, police sources said. For more read here.

5. Contract Worker Found Dead Inside Delhi Jal Board Sewage Pipeline

A 22-year-old contractual worker was found dead at the Delhi Jal Board’s (DJB’s) Keshopur Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) on Thursday. His body was found in one of the pipes of the digester — the tank where sewage is treated.

A case has been registered under Section 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC against unknown persons. Full report here.

6. Mumbai: Man Lures 6-Year-Old With Candy, Rapes Her

A 50-year-old was arrested on Wednesday for raping a 6-year-old in a Mumbai shanty. The police caught the accused almost 10 days after the incident. The victim and accused were neighbours.

7. Tiffin Bomb Defused in Chhattisgarh

A tiffin bomb was found on a main road in Chattisgarh on Thursday morning leading to panic among common people.

The bomb was kept on a Maoist banner which appealed to the people “not to surrender to the police.”

8. BJP Leaders’ Murder: Gujarat ATS Hands Over All 7 Accused to Cops

The Gujarat ATS on Thursday handed over the murder report to the police of two BJP leaders’. The seven accused were arrested from Uttarakhand and Rajasthan, among which four were held from Rajsthan.

9. Jharkhand: Maoist Zonal Leader Arrested for Shahdeo Murders

A Maoist zonal commander, wanted for the murders of three members of Jharkhand’s reputable Shahdeo family of Lohardaga, has been arrested in Dhanbad.

The arrested identified as Kameshwar Yadav was nabbed near Jharkhand-Bengal border.

FIR had been lodged against him under Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act and Section 17 of CLA Act. Full report available here.
