1. Salman Khan Had Firearms During & After Poaching: Prosecution
Salman Khan might have more trouble with the law. The prosecution informed the High Court Bench of Rajasthan that the Bollywood actor possessed firearms during and also after the 1998 poaching of endangered species of chinkaras for which he was sentenced to one-year in jail.
According to a Midday report, rejecting to the defence counsel’s claim that Khan just had airguns which were not fatal for animals, the prosecution quoted police office Satyamani Tiwari, who had found a revolver in Salman’s hotel room besides one rifle and an airgun. For more read here.
2. Thane Massacre: Sole Survivor Recounts The Saturday Horror
“I have killed everyone; now it’s your turn,” is what 35-year-old Hasnain Warekar said before attacking Sobiya Bharmal, the lone survivor in the Thane mass murder case. Speaking to Midday, Sobiya recounts the whole incident in which 14 members of her family were killed by Hasnain.
Warekar did not even spare Sobiya’s five-month-old daughter. With a knife used for animal slaughter, Warekar killed his parents, sisters and even his wife and children on Saturday night.

3. Kerala Priest Gets 40-Year Jail Term for Raping Minor
A 35-year-old priest based in Kerala was sentenced to 40 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor, reports The Indian Express. The special court judge in Thrissur announced the sentence under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
The accused pastor Sanil K James was also fined Rs 20,000. The 14-year-old survivor will be given a compensation of Rs 3 lakh. Read the full story here.
4. Shiv Sena Leader Held For Allegedly Thrashing Doctor
Shiv Sena chief of Wardha district of Maharashtra was arrested on Wednesday along with five others for allegedly assaulting a doctor and hurling casteist remarks, reports NDTV.
Nilesh Deshmukh and the five others assaulted Dr Sumit Ambade on Tuesday who is associated with the government rural hospital.
Deshmukh complained that a patient who was admitted for scorpion-bite was not receving treatment and that was what led to the row. For more read here.
5. Noida: Woman Abducted, Car Found Near Home
A 29-year-old woman residing in Noida is missing since Monday, as per a report in The Times of India. Cops are suspecting she has allegedly been abducted, after her Maruti Swift car was found abandoned barely less than 100 metres from her house in Sector 37.
Shipra Malik, a boutique owner tried to dial the police helpline 100 at around 3 PM when she was in Lajpat Nagar. The call however failed to connect. Her husband owns a construction company.

6. Kannada TV Actress Shruthi Found Dead at Friend’s House
Body of a 25-year old actress was found hanging at her friend’s house in Bengaluru on Tuesday, reports Deccan Chronicle. Shruthi, a small time Kannada television actress was married for the last seven years to a businessman named Umesh.
On Monday night, Shruthi spent the night with her friend at his residence. They allegedly had a fight, sometime after which her body was discovered by her friend Shrikanth, who immediately called the police.

7. Mumbai: Domestic Help Amassed Rs 2 Crore in Three Years
A 30-year-old woman, who has several cases of theft against her, was nabbed in Mumbai on Sunday, Mid day reports. Her arrest will likely help the police solve at least 40 theft cases in the Western suburb of the city.
The con woman identified as Deepa has amassed wealth to the tune of Rs 2 crore by robbing her employers off cash and jewellery.
Her targets include a Bollywood actor, a renowned businessman and Marathi actress Dipali Sayyed. For more, read here.
8. More Cheating Cases Reported, Maharashtra State Board Credits Better Invigilation
The Maharashtra state board has given credit to a stepped up vigil during the Higher Secondary Certificate Exam for the rising number of reported cheating cases this year, analyses The Indian Express.
The number of cheating cases had dipped in the last three years but this year the cheating cases shot up until the tenth day of the exams.
Aurangabad topped the list with highest number of such cases with 291 incidents, followed by Nashik (118) Amravati (93), Nagpur (43) and Pune (34). Read the full report here.
9. Ranchi: No Arrest Yet in Marble Trader Kidnap 24 Hrs On
A man was kidnapped on Monday evening in Ranchi. Three men impersonating Jharkhand Jaguar personnel are suspected to have kidnapped the 45-year-old man, who owns a marble shop and a godown.
A ransom call of Rs 1 crore was made to the wife of Raju Mandal for his safe return. She finally filed an FIR on Tuesday but there has been no arrest. For more read here.
