1. Gurgaon: Man Dragged 500 Mtrs in Road Rage
A 35-year old senior executive in a private IT firm was driven nearly 500 metres on the bonnet of a car after he fell on it following an incident of road rage in Gurgaon, according to a report in The Pioneer.
Identified as Prateek, the victim was with his three-year-old son when the incident took place.
A case was registered against unknown persons three days after the incident only after the victim provided CCTV footage of what happened. For the full report, click here.
2. Hyderabad: Minister’s Son Accused of Kidnapping MP’s Husband
A case of extortion has been filed, on Thursday, against the son of Telangana minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and his friend Ramakrishna, reports Deccan Chronicle.
They have been accused to forcibly make Vizag MP Kottapalli Geetha’s husband Ram Koteswara Rao sign a few documents concerning a plot in Gachibowli.
Rao further said that Talasani Sai, the son of Srinivas abducted him, which the minister denied. Read the full report here.
3. Ghaziabad: Minor Sets Herself On Fire After Rape
A minor girl based in Ghaziabad, who set herself on fire after being raped, is battling for her life, reports The Pioneer. The victim was raped by a local youth identified as Babloo Yadav, an MBA student who barged into her house, bolted the door from inside and forced himself upon her.
Before her family could help the situation, she had set herself on fire. The girl, belonging to the Dalit community has suffered 50 per cent injuries. For the full story, visit here.
4. Odisha: Pistols Found in Properties of Ex Cong MLA
Former Congress MLA Ramesh Jena’s troubles with the law just do not seem to end. Six more pistols were seized from places with which he is associated, reports The Telegraph. Right now, the political leader is lodged in jail.

5. Hyderabad: Mastermind Behind Bank Fraud Held in Mumbai
The mastermind behind the State Bank of Hyderabad scam was arrested on Thursday through a coordinated effort by CBI and Mumbai crime branch, reports Deccan Chronicle.
Ch VK Sai Kumar was arrested in Mumbai in connection with the deceitful withdrawal of FD (fixed deposit) from the bank connected to the liquidation of a company. For the full story visit here.

6. Assam: Teachers Wear Black Bands to Protest Colleague’s Rape
Primary teachers in Assam were seen wearing black bands on Thursday to protest the rape of a teacher at Hailakandi district on Monday evening, according to a report in The Telegraph.
They also boycotted classes and demanded strict punishment for the guilty. The teacher was raped when she was returning from her school. For the full coverage, read here.
7. Mumbai: Businessman Duped of Rs 7 Lakh
A businessman residing in a posh area of Mumbai was duped by a cyber conman to the tune of Rs 7 lakh, reports Mid-day. An FIR has been lodged against the youth who obtained the credit card and online banking details of the 60-year-old.

8. Chennai: MAM Trust Cars Stolen, Case Registered
A case was registered on Tuesday in Chennai against three persons in connection with a Mercedes and Toyota Camry theft, reports The Times of India.
The cars belonged to the wealthy and powerful MAM Ramasamy Trust.
The case was registered against three drivers under IPC Sections 380 (theft in a dwelling house) and 454 (trespass) against the accused. For the full report read here.
9. Bhubaneshwar: Engineer, Wife Sentenced For Graft
A 59-year-old engineer was sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment in connection with a disproportionate assets case, reports The Telegraph. The executive engineer based in Bhubaneshwar will also have to pay a penalty of Rs 10 lakh.
His 56-year-old wife was also awarded one-year jail term and a fine of Rs 1 lakh. For more read here.
