1. Father Attacks Daughter With Knife for Returning Home Late
A teenage girl was allegedly attacked by her father with a kitchen knife who was angry with her for returning home late, in Palam area of south west Delhi, police said.
The 18-year-old girl, who sustained minor injuries in the attack, lodged a complaint with police, saying she had gone to meet her aunt and returned to her home in Raj Nagar in Palam area late at night, when her father lost his cool and scolded her, they said.
She alleged her father picked up a kitchen knife and attacked her, causing injuries on back and neck.

2. Goa Boy Shoots Teenage Girl Dead, Then Attempts Suicide
A 19-year-old boy allegedly shot a teenage girl dead before attempting suicide by turning the gun on himself near Ponda town in Goa, police said.
Nikhil Kumar, who is from Jharkhand and is currently living in Loutolim village, shot Sujata Naik,19, dead and then tried to commit suicide by shooting himself in the stomach on Thursday evening at the girl’s home in Madkai village, Ponda police said.
Nikhil Kumar entered the girl’s house when her father was out of the house. The teenager was carrying his father’s revolver, who works as a security guard in a private company.

3. 13-Year-Old Boy Booked Under Goondas Act in UP
A 13-year-old boy was booked under the Goondas Act in Farrukhabad district a week ago after his family was involved in a scuffle with a neighbour over a petty issue.
The Goondas Act provides for preventive detention up to three months and imposes stringent conditions for bail. One can also be externed from a district for six months.
The boy’s father, Yogendra Pal, a resident of Kalauli village, met SP city Rajesh Krishna on Wednesday and pleaded that his son had been falsely implicated under the Goondas Act by the Nawabganj police.

4. UP Man, Pregnant Wife Murdered in Their Thane Home
A couple, who had run away from their home in Uttar Pradesh, was found murdered in their rented house in Thane on Thursday morning.
The woman was nine months pregnant and her delivery date was around 22 September. Police suspect the couple was murdered by known people as there was a lot of opposition to their marriage.
Vijayshankar Jagmohan Yadav, 30, and his wife Sufiya alias Priya Abrar Mansoori, 22, got married in April last year. But owing to opposition from their family, they moved to Daighar village in Thane six months ago.
Police found Yadav with his throat slit, while Sufiya was smothered to death. Police suspect the crime happened on the night of Bakrid. Their decomposed bodies have been sent to Thane civil hospital for post-mortem.

5. Seven Students, Teacher Booked Over Repeated Rape of Male Student
Seven students and a teacher of an engineering college in Mathura have been booked for allegedly sodomising a student in the hostel, police said.
Surya Pratap Singh, a first year student and resident of Farrukhabad district, was allegedly sodomised repeatedly in the hostel of Sanjai Engineering College.
“An FIR under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act has been registered against seven students and a teacher, Ayush Yadav in connection with the case,” Additional SP (Rural) Arun Kumar Singh said, adding, the accused students have been suspended by college administration.
According to the FIR, Surya was threatened when he opposed to his repeated victimisation.

6. ‘Jilted Lover’ Kills 21-Year-Old Aspiring Fashion Designer
A 21-year-old girl pursuing her Masters in fashion designing from a leading college in the city was brutally murdered by her `jilted lover’, a 22-year old MBA student.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Vidhyadhar locality.
The accused was arrested early Thursday morning, six hours after the incident took place. Police said it appears to be a clear case of jealousy.The boy was jealous of the fact that the girl had started seeing another boy.
According to police sources, the girl identified as Harshita Gupta, lived in Khandelwal Towers in Vidhyadhar Nagar. On the fateful day, she left her home at 6.30 pm.

7. Arrested Dehradun Man Confesses to Wife’s Murder, Says Inspired by A Show
A Dehradun man allegedly murdered his wife, stuffed her body inside a suitcase, dumped it in a forest and attempted to cover his tracks using tricks he learnt from his favourite TV crime show, police said on Friday.
Mohammad Danish allegedly killed his wife Imrana, whose “unidentifiable” body was found in the Doiwala forest on the outskirts of the city last May.
“The body had become too rotten to be identified as the perpetrator had sprinkled acid on it and had even chopped some parts (of the body),” Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sadanand Date said on Friday.
Police said Imrana was killed with “criminal precision” using tricks often shown on the television show, Crime Patrol.

8. Karate Instructor Held for Child Abuse in Hyderabad
A 29-year-old city Karate instructor has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a two-and-half-year old child at a play school in Nagarjunanagar.
Police personnel from Kushaiguda station said Sai Kumar took the girl from the classroom on the pretext of taking her to the toilet and sexually assaulted her. The incident, which happened a week ago, came to light after the child complained of pain.
According to police sources, Sai Kiran had been employed as a martial arts instructor by Iris Floret play school for a year. He took classes twice a week at the school. A week ago, he and another teacher were speaking to a class when the victim said she needed to use the toilet.

9. Noida Police Foil Bid to Abduct Amity Student After Gunfight
The Noida Police claim to have foiled an abduction bid of an Amity University student, in which his cousin was allegedly involved.
On Thursday evening, a patrolling team of Phase 3 police station arrested Pappu Kumar Rai and Abhishek Kumar after a brief gunfight, police said.
During interrogation, it was found that they were going to abduct the cousin of their friend and demand a ransom of Rs 5 crore from the boy’s father.
“A police checking team spotted a WagonR with a registration number of Jharkhand. When signalled to stop, the occupants left the car and tried to flee by firing in the air. The police team retaliated and nabbed both of them,” said Pankaj Pant, station house officer, Phase 3 police station.
