1. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Ordered Inquiry Into Hooch Case
13 died while 7 are critical as illicit liquor was sold in a bar in Malawani, Malad in Mumbai.
Fadnavis directed the officials that the inquiry must be completed within two days and a report should be submitted, an official from the Chief Minister’s office said.
Excise minister Eknath Khadse visited the hospital and met those who are undergoing treatment.

2. HC Notice to State: ex-PWD secretary Marathe challenges Nagpur FIR
The Bombay High Court bench here today issued a notice to Maharashtra government seeking a reply to a petition by June 22.
The petition was filed by a former PWD Secretary, named by the state Anti-Corruption bureau in Maharashtra Sadan corruption case challenging the FIR against him.
Former Public Works Department Secretary Devdutta Marathe has challenged the FIR lodged by the Anti-Corruption Bureau which also names the former PWD minister and NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal and his family members.

3. HC Relief for Cash-for-Vote Case Accused
The Hyderabad High Court today restrained the police from arresting Jerusalem Mathaiah, an accused in the cash-for-vote scam allegedly involving Telugu Desam leaders, till June 24.
Justice Shiv Shanker Rao also asked the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Telangana police to file its reply to the petition filed by Mathaiah before the next date.
Mathaiah has approached the High Court seeking a direction to quash the FIR lodged by Elvis Stephenson, the Anglo-Indian nominated MLA of Telangana Assembly.

4. Govt Official Held for Taking Bribe
A Selection Grade Secretary working at Agriculture Market Committee in Gaddi Annaram at LB Nagar in Hyderabad was nabbed on Thursday by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 3 lakh.
K Janardhan Reddy was caught red handed in the premises of Market Yard.
The complaint is for getting the renewal of licenses of commission agents (members of the complainant’s union), an ACB release said.

5. Businessman Shot Dead in West Bengal
One businessman was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Midnapore (West) district today.
Police said two motorcycle borne unidentified miscreants fired on the businessman Jay Prakash Sahu (40) when he was returning home from his shop near Kharagpur.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was declared brought dead.

6. Delhi Govt Sends Corruption Complaint Against Meena to Vigilance Dept
Delhi Government today forwarded to Vigilance Department the complaint of corruption by a retired Delhi Police inspector, Jawahar Lal, against Anti Corruption Bureau chief M K Meena for further inquiry.

7. Former Chhattisgarh Minister Arrested in Assault Case
Former Chhattisgarh minister Tuleshwar Singh was arrested on Thursday for his alleged involvement in an assault case along with 20 other, police said.
Following a land dispute, on November 19, 2014 Singh and his associates had entered a farm house and assaulted some persons.

8. Woman Naxal Held in Chhattisgarh
A woman maoist who was allegedly involved in attack on a police anti-landmine vehicle in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Dantewada district was arrested on Thursday.
The cadre was apprehended by a joint team of security forces from a forested patch under Aranpur police station limits, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Kamlochan Kashyap told PTI.
Naxals had blown up an anti-landmine vehicle on Cholnar- Kirandul road in Dantewada on April 13, killing five policemen and injuring eight others.

9. Court Orders Release of 76 Fishermen as Gujarat Govt Withdrew the Case
A court in Dwarka district had on Wednesday ordered release of 76 of these fishermen after the Gujarat government withdrew case of trespass against them.
Magistrate V D Jambusar passed the order. Assistant public prosecutor Y L Sudra today said that government had informed the court that these under-trial prisoners were small-time fishermen from Pakistan who will not be prosecuted further and should be released.
