1. Murder Convict Held After Jumping Parole

A man, who was convicted of murder and jumped parole, was arrested along with another criminal in Khayala area of west Delhi, police said on Tuesday.

Police arrested Ranjeet, who was in jail after being convicted in a murder case and later jumped parole, on Monday. He is also wanted in three attempt to murder cases.

2. Man Kills Wife, Daughter Over Frequent Quarrels

Frustrated over frequent quarrels in the family, a man allegedly killed his wife and their 18-year-old daughter at their residence in Bavla town near Ahmedabad, police said.

The incident took place late last night, police said, adding that the accused, Pratapram Meghwal (42), committed the crime as he was fed up with his wife’s accusation that he was into a physical relationship with their daughter.

3. Old Couple Found Murdered

An old couple was found murdered at their house at Purail village, a senior police official said.

Ram Lakhan (65) and his wife Choti (62) were apparently killed last night, Singrauli District Superintendent of Police Rudolf Alvares told PTI.

4. Woman Gangraped in Uttar Pradesh

A woman was gangraped in the city allegedly by four persons who also looted cash and gold ornaments from her, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Sunday when the woman was waiting for a vehicle at the roadways bus stand in Etah and Tarsem met her. The woman had known him beforehand, they said.

According to the FIR lodged by the woman, she went in Tarsem's car, in which three others were also present. The four men allegedly gave her some intoxicated substance following which she became unconscious, and they raped her.

5. Sex CD: Sacked Delhi Minister Sandeep Kumar Gets Bail

Sacked Delhi minister Sandeep Kumar, arrested on alleged rape charges, was granted bail on Monday by a Delhi court, which directed him not to tamper with the evidence. Special Judge Poonam Chaudhry enlarged the AAP MLA on bail on furnishing of a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh and surety of a like amount.

The court directed Kumar, who was arrested on 3 September and was in custody since then, to deposit his passport and not to influence witnesses. Kumar had sought bail on the ground that probe in the case was over and his custodial interrogation was no longer required.

6. Surat Man Rapes Sister-in-law, Held

Anjuna police arrested a 32-year-old, a native of Surat, in Gujarat, for allegedly raping his sister-in-law at a hotel in Arpora.

The accused had come to Goa for a vacation along with family, relatives and friends.

According to police, the survivor and her family and friends arrived in Goa on 1 November.

7. Two Minor Girls Gangraped, Three Arrested

Two minor girls were allegedly raped at a guest-house by three men, who have been arrested, in Barkot area of the district, police said on Monday.

The girls alleged that on the pretext of giving them a lift in a car to their village, two of the accused forcefully took them to the guest-house and raped them along with one another on Friday, Barkot police station in-charge Santosh Kumar said.

8. CBI Files Chargesheet Against Three in Bulandshahr Rape Case

CBI has filed its charge-sheet against three accused in Bulandshahr rape case in which a woman and her teenaged daughter were alleged raped by a gang of over six people while they were on their way to attend a family function in Shahjahanpur.

The agency has filed chargesheet against three alleged gang members – Saleem alias Beena alias Diawan, Zuber alias Sunil alias Parvez and Sajid for IPC sections related to dacoity, abduction and gangrape besides additional charges of child rape under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012.

9. Police Officer Suspended for Alleged Misbehaviour

A police officer, who allegedly posed indecent questions when a gangrape victim approached him to register a complaint, was today suspended, even as opposition UDF demanded action against a CPI-M functionary for "disclosing" the name of the woman.

Circle Inspector of Peramangalam police station in Thrissur district MV Manikantan was suspended by IGP MR Ajit Kumar pending inquiry, police said.

Kumar conducted a preliminary probe into the allegation levelled by the victim that the police officer had asked her "indecent questions" about the crime.
