Two doctors associated with a district hospital in Maharashtra has been suspended for negligence in performing cataract surgeries on 41 patients on October 15. This led to infections and other complications in 31 patients.

2. J Dey Murder Case to Be Looked at Afresh: Mumbai Police Commissioner

3. Woman Judge ‘Abused’: Judicial Service Body Urges HC, Bar Council to Act

Following alleged misbehaviour by a lawyer in a woman judge’s courtroom a week ago, Delhi Judicial Service Association Thursday passed a resolution requesting Delhi High Court and Bar Council of Delhi to take “appropriate steps” in the matter.

4. Spike in Gold Smuggling Cases at Pune Airport

A significant rise in gold smuggling cases has been reported at the Pune international airport in Lohegaon. According to the Customs Department, in the financial year 2013-2014, only six cases of gold smuggling but in 2014-2015, there were 23 cases of gold smuggling.

5. Protesters, Police Clash Over ‘Cow Theft’ Killing; 8 Injured

Eight people were injured on Thursday when protestors clashed with police following the killing of a madrassa headmaster in Imphal over ‘cow theft’.

A tainted Bengaluru IAS officer has landed in a fresh scandal when child pornography material was recovered from the flat belonging to a company linked to him.

7. Mumbai: 55-Year-Old Woman Killed, Carpenter Suspected

A 55-year-old was allegedly killed in Mumbai on Wednesday by a carpenter who was renovating her home. The woman’s maid found her body and informed the cops.

Two men were arrested in Bengaluru on Wednesday for allegedly attempted to murder a person, who was having an affair with the wife of one of the accused.
