4. Dope Test for Police Job Catches 120 in Punjab

Punjab conducted first ever dope tests on the candidates appearing to apply for police force jobs on Wednesday. About 120 candidates failed the test across the state. The test took place in Bathinda, Muktsar, Mansa, Faridkot, Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana.

Last month, four youths died due to overdose of performance enhancing drugs before appearing for the Haryana police recruitment test.

Any candidate testing positive will be asked to produce the prescription slip. If he/she claims that they may have tested positive due to consuming a certain medicine, the prescription slip will be sent to Faridkot medical college to verify their claims. It is for the first time that drug test is being conducted during the recruitment drive in Punjab. With this, we can ensure that drug-free youths are recruited in police force.
