1. A Day After 5 Murders, Father-Son Duo Shot Dead in Family Feud in Baghpat
A day after three members of a family and two policemen protecting them were gunned down in Gangnauli village of Baghpat, a man and his son were shot dead in a family feud at Nirpura village in Baghpat on Tuesday.
Three others were critically injured. The incident happened even when ADG (crime) Abhay Kumar Prasad was busy inspecting Monday's crime scene in Gangnauli village.
Police said a dispute over money led to a gunfight between members of an extended family.

2. Man Stabbed to Death by His Live-In Partner's Husband
A man who was in a live-in relationship with a married woman was abducted by her husband and accomplices from northwest Delhi's Bhalswa bridge and beaten to death, police said on Tuesday.
Police arrested two accused, identified as Rashid and Imran, on Saturday, said Milind Mahadeo Dumbere, DCP (Northwest). They are now searching for the woman's husband Babu Khan and his other accomplices, Dumbere added.
Arun's friend Lalit told police that he had been kidnapped along with Arun on 4 October from Bhalswa Bridge and they were taken to Khan's house at Ansar Vihar in Loni (UP), the officer said.

3. Accused Raped Perfumer Monika Ghurde Before Killing Her: Cops
The man held for the murder of perfumer Monika Ghurde spent two nights on the terrace monitoring movements and raped her multiple times before strangulating her, police said on Tuesday.
The accused, Rajkumar Singh, has confessed to sexually abusing Monika after tying her to bed in her apartment and also forced her to watch porn clips, they said.
Singh, a 21-year-old native of Punjab, used to work as a security guard in her housing complex and was sacked from the job after being accused of stealing her umbrella, police said.

4. Drunk Man Sets Wife on Fire, Arrested
The city police on Monday arrested a 37-year-old man on charges of attempt to murder after he set his wife on fire at Peelamedu, Coimbatore on Saturday night.
Police said K Premchandar, 37, of Teachers Colony at Chinniyampalayam, runs a powerloom unit at his house. He is married to P Nandhi seven years ago and the couple has a five-year-old daughter.
Premchandar is an alcoholic and would often quarrel with his wife.

5. Youth Arrested for Raping 4-Year-Old Girl in Thane
A 24-year-old youth allegedly raped a four-year-old girl at his house here following which he was arrested, police said today.
The incident took place last evening when the mother of the girl left her along with her brother in their house and went to a nearby market. The accused sneaked into their house and took the girl to his house, Police PRO Sukhada Narkar said.
"He took her to the mezzanine floor in his house and committed the crime. The girl later confided in her mother following which an FIR was lodged," she said.

6. Two Held with Gold Hidden in Papaya
Customs officials at the Indira Gandhi International airport arrested two men, who were trying to smuggle into the country gold worth over Rs 75 lakh that was concealed inside a papaya. The smuggling attempt was unearthed when customs sleuths intercepted the duo at the green channel following a tip-off.
The passengers, who held Indian passports, arrived at Terminal 3 of the IGI airport on Sunday from Bangkok by flight TG315, when they were asked to cooperate for a thorough checking by the customs officials at the green channel.

7. Muharram Violence: 19-Year-Old Stabbed in Bengaluru
Tension prevailed in the area when a 19-year-old youth was stabbed to death by three people during a Muharram procession in KR Puram police station limits on Monday night.
Police said the deceased has been identified as Azmath Pasha, son of Naveed, a mechanic by profession and a resident of Tent Road in Mahadevapura.
The arrested are Suhail Pasha alias Wheel, Nayaz Pasha alias Bond and Khader, all residents of JC Layout in KR Puram. It is said that the trio were under the influence of alcohol when they stabbed Azmath.

8. Swindler Masquerading as DSP Arrested
The Thampanoor police on Tuesday arrested a 53-year-old man, who masqueraded as Deputy Superintendent of Police and duped several persons offering them jobs. Police identified the accused as MK Pradeep of Pappanamcode.
Police said that the accused was held when he, in a daring act, brought one of his preys to the police station so as to convince the latter about his identity. Turning up at the station, he introduced himself as the DSP and demanded the cops there to salute him. But growing suspicious over his behaviour, the cops asked for his identity card. When he tried to escape, they detained him.

9. Gang of Transformer Thieves Busted; Four Held with Auto in Ludhiana
Following a tip-off, crime investigation agency (CIA) have arrested a gang of burglars for stealing electricity transformers, near Kaind Canal Bridge on late Sunday.
The gang of four people used to dismantle the equipment to ferret out expensive metal like copper and bronze. Police have seized 90-kg bronze and a three-wheeler from their possession that they used for carrying the equipment.
The accused have been identified as Anil Kumar alias Billa of Jeevan Nagar, Chhuttan Kumar alias Bihari of Kohara village, Pankaj Kumar of EWS Colony and Mukesh Kumar alias Chikna.
