4. DSP Suicide Case: Minister KJ George Won't Resign, Says Karnataka CM

Chief minister Siddaramaiah ruled out the resignation of Bengaluru development minister KJ George in connection with the DSP MK Ganapati suicide case saying that since he had already resigned on moral grounds, there is no need to resign once again.

Siddaramaiah also maintained that BJB's demand of George's resignation is unwarranted since he is not in a position to influence the CBI in this case.

Launching a scathing attack on the saffron party, Siddaramaiah said that the probe agency has become a political tool for BJP. "This is a politically motivated charge to tarnish the image of KJ George and our government for electoral gains," Karnataka Congress quoted Siddaramaiah as saying on its official Twitter handle on Friday.

6. Structural Issues Come in the Way of Having STPs in Apartment Complexes

As apartment complexes rush towards meeting the deadline to install sewage treatment plants (STPs) within their premises, the harsh realities and the difficult technical challenges have started to sink in.

Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has set the deadline of 31 December for the installation of STPs in apartment complexes with more than 50 units. The problem, as many apartment associations have realised, is that there is no space within their built-up premises to allow for construction.

In a survey of three apartment complexes — comprising 320 households — in Malleswaram, structural consultants have ruled out the possibility of installing STPs as fresh construction close to the apartments would endanger the stability of the structures.
