1) Rs 374 Crore Makeover for Bengaluru Roads
Citizens in Majestic, Gandhinagar and KR Market can now look forward to safe pedestrian pathways and better roads. The cabinet on Monday approved a comprehensive package to develop arterial roads in and around Majestic, Gandhinagar and KR Market under the TenderSURE project worth Rs 374 crore.

2) Mount Carmel College Girls Catch Journalist for Flashing
A 32-year-old man, a journalist with a popular Malayalam newspaper, has been arrested for repeatedly flashing outside Mount Carmel College in Vasanthnagar. Vijesh, a resident of Kammanahalli, had reportedly been flashing the students on Loop Road, when they come to pick-up their two-wheelers. He continued to harass them for a month until a group of 10 students reported him to the police.

3) Man Arrested on Charges of Sexually Assaulting Minor
A 36-year-old man was arrested on Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old at Basaveshwaranagar on Sunday. The girl, who studies in Standard VII, was home on Sunday afternoon when the accused, Srinivas, allegedly forced himself on the girl. It was only when her parents — the mother works as a beautician, while the father makes cushions — returned home that the girl narrated the incident, said the police.

4) Yeddyurappa Hosts 33 Dalit Families in Own Home
Karnataka BJP president B S Yeddyurappa, who along with other party leaders, has been attempting to woo Dalits by dining in their homes, reciprocated the hospitality of 33 Dalit families by hosting a lunch for them at his Dollars Colony home in Bengaluru on Monday.

5) 4,000 sqm of prime land to be acquired for Vellara station
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation will acquire about 4,000sqm land of prime commercial properties for Vellara Junction station on its ambitious 21.25km Red Line from Gottigere to Nagawara. The 5,000sqft space of the 60-year-old landmark Fatima Bakery & Super Market will also be acquired to make way for entry-exit of the station.
