16 Students Injured in Explosion at a School in J&K’s Pulwama

An explosion was reported at a school in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Wednesday, 13 February.

A mysterious explosion inside the premises of a private school in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama area left at least 16 students injured on Wednesday, 13 February, ANI reported citing official. The injured students have been shifted SHMS Hospital.

The explosion took place around 2:30 pm inside a classroom at Falai-e-Millat school at Narbal, Pulwama.

Speaking to the news agency, Senior Superintendent of Police of Pulwama Chandan Kohli said:

“[A] total [of] 16 students were injured in [the] explosion at a private school, their condition is stable. [An] FIR [has been] registered, investigation is in progress.”

Police are still ascertaining the cause of the explosion.

Guv Satya Pal Mallik Condemns Incident, Announces Ex-Gratia of Rs 50,000

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik condemned the explosion in Pulwama and announced ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 for each of the victim.

He directed the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir to ensure best medical treatment for the students, the spokesman told PTI.

Former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah also condemned the incident and added that proper investigation should be carried forward.
