Mita Santra, wife of Babloo Santra, one of the over 40 CRPF jawans who lost their lives in the Pulwama terror attack on 14 February, faced brutal trolling on social media for her anti-war plea after the strikes in Balakot.
After the attacks, Mita had said that retaliation was not the way ahead. Ensuring security for the forces was the need of the hour.
In response to her trolls, however, Mita told The Quint:
“Those who are asking for war- nobody from their family has ever gone to the war front.”
Mita said that she had not read any of the comments personally but was informed about it from various quarters.
After 14 February, nothing affects me personally. You think I’m in the mental state to read these things now?Mita Santra to The Quint
Many people on social media have, however, stood up for her.
“Sometimes, such a situation arises where there is no other option except war. But in the Pulwama attack, these jawans were not martyred. They were ambushed,” Mita asserted.
“I want the Indian government to look into the security of the forces when they are moving”, she added.
