A senior executive of a private firm was on Sunday, 28 October, booked for allegedly murdering his wife by pushing her off the balcony of their eighth floor flat in Ansal Valley View society in Gurugram’s Gwalpahari the night before, Times of India reported.
Vikram has been booked under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for killing his wife Deepika Chouhan, an employee of Indian Bank.
32-year-old Deepika, who had observed a fast on Karva Chauth, got into a quarrel with her husband Vikram Chouhan later that day, the report said, citing the the complaint filed by Deepika’s father Harikishan Ahuja.
According to the report, Deepika and Vikram got married in 2013, and the couple had a four-year-old daughter and a six-month-old son.
“Vikram’s relationship with another woman, who used to frequent the couple’s apartment, was the major cause of discord between Deepika and Vikram,” Ahuja told TOI.
According to police, the initial probe has confirmed that Vikram was having an affair with a woman living in the same society, the report said.
“We had heard rumours of the illicit affair between Vikram and a woman,” a resident of the society told TOI on the condition of anonymity. “Deepika was under stress and used to have arguments with her husband about his alleged affair,” he added.
Deepika’s father alleged that the couple had on Saturday, 27 October, once again argued over Vikram’s “extra-marital affair”, during which they had gone to the balcony of their flat, where Vikram and his girlfriend pushed his wife off the balcony.
