At a time when Samajwadi Party is fighting a messy political battle in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose to address a ‘Parivartan Rally’ there on Monday.
Modi not only attacked the Opposition for their critique of demonetisation, he also took a dig at the ruling Samajwadi Party government. He said that while other parties, including the BSP, are finding ways to hide their laundered wealth, BJP is making attempts to develop the state.
Incessant Attacks Aimed at UP Government
“The UP state government hasn’t worked for the welfare of farmers inspite of getting full support from the Centre,” Modi said at the rally.
Assuring the voters that the BJP government is focused on developing UP, he said that ever since the BJP came to power in the Centre, it has ensured that every year Uttar Pradesh got an additional 1 lakh crore to spend for development and better facilities and infrastructure.
Modi Takes a Dig at SP, BSP
The Prime Minister did not leave any opportunity to attack both the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party.
“Have you ever seen BSP and SP together? When BSP says sun is rising, SP will say sun is setting. But both agree on ‘Modi hatao’,” he asserted.
“They say remove Modi, I say remove black money, they say remove Modi, I say remove corruption. Now the public can decide what they support.”
We Need to Change UP’s Destiny: Modi
Taking a dig at the Samajwadi Party and the BSP, he urged the voters to bring back vikas to Uttar Pradesh.
He also urged the people of the state to help the BJP bring back development to the state. He said the country cannot grow with UP left behind.
“UP has suffered from a vikaas ka vanvaas for 14 years... Uttar Pradesh needs to bring back BJP to end this vanvaas...To change the destiny of India, we need to first change the destiny of Uttar Pradesh,” he said.
