Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the courage of the CRPF on the 53rd episode of his monthly radio-broadcast Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, 24 February at 11 am. The episode was the prime minister's first radio address to the nation since the Pulwama terror attack which left 40 CRPF personnel dead.

This marks PM Modi's second episode of Mann Ki Baat in 2019.

In the 52nd episode of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi hailed the efforts of the Election Commission in strengthening India’s democracy and noted that those born in the 21st century would be voting for the first time in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Modi: This Will Be Our Last Episode of Mann Ki Baat Till May End

Since I’m contesting elections as a candidate, I will talk to you again on the last Sunday of May, three months from now.

Since the elections are coming, PM Modi said that this will be the last edition of Mann Ki Baat for the next three months. He added that the next edition of Mann Ki Baat will be broadcast only in the last week of May.

On a sidenote, the Model Code of Conduct, which will come into effect once General election dates are announced, prohibits the ruling party of India from advertising its achievements at the cost of the public exchequer.

Modi also took the chance to hail the 44th Constitutional Amendment and attack the 1975 emergency under Indira Gandhi, stating that it was because of Morarji Desai and the 44th amendment that India would never see a repeat of the same “murder of democracy” that took place during the 1975 emergency.
